Prostate Cancer Charter for Action
Because men's lives matter

The Prostate Cancer Charter for Action was formed in 2003, thanks to a grant of funds from the GUS Charitable Trust, as a collaboration of 17 charities and professional organisations with the aim of exerting pressure on the Government to do something about the deplorable situation for prostate cancer patients.

The original calls of the Charter can be read here.

A copy of the latest Charter for Action Newsletter can be downloaded by clicking here.

Much has been achieved by the Charter, in particular through exerting pressure through the Prostate Cancer Advisory Group, but also through other awareness raising and lobbying activities.

In October 2005 over 35 Parliamentarians attended the launch of the Charter's second calls, which this time prioritise the "patient's experience". Parliamentary supporters of the second Charter number almost 250. Three lively and informative speeches were given at the Launch by Dr Howard Stoate MP, Rosie Winterton, Cancer Minister, and your very own webmaster, Sandy Tyndale Biscoe. The full text of Sandy's speech can be found here. To read the Prostate Cancer Charter for Action calls in full, click here.
